Ashley Heinnickel

Ashley Heinnickel, Global Marketing Director

As Global Marketing Director, Ashley is responsible for the development and execution of marketing initiatives across all Excel4apps regions.  She ensures marketing alignment to regional business plans, develops core marketing messages, product launch strategies, and other program development and training.

Ashley is an experienced and versatile marketing director passionate about developing marketing strategies in a global environment.  Her experience spans a variety of marketing channels and industries including transportation, education and software.  Before joining Excel4apps, Ashley served as Director of Marketing for Carnegie Learning, a mathematics software and textbook publisher.  Prior to that, Ashley was the General Manager for Fundamental Labor Strategies, a labor leasing and consulting firm, where she was a member of the Senior Management Team and supported marketing, market research, sales and recruiting programs, and employee training functions. 

Ashley obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Westminster College where she was captain and MVP of the Women’s Intercollegiate Basketball team. She is a Lector at St. John Neumann Parish and also serves on their Marriage and Baptism Preparation Teams. While she enjoys photography and digital scrapbooking, she is happiest when spending time with her husband and 3 young children in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

 
Chris Meyer

Chris Meyer, CEO

As the CEO of Excel4apps, Chris is responsible for driving business growth, overseeing overall corporate vision and strategic direction. Chris joined Excel4apps in 2009 to lead the Americas region and expanded his role in 2014 to include the United Kingdom and Europe. In 2016, he was appointed to lead Excel4apps as Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining Excel4apps, Chris was a member of the executive leadership of the financial analytics software company, macs Controlling, where he managed the company’s launch of a U.S. division. He also has considerable consulting experience with Perot Systems, Diagonal Plc, and KPMG, in which he successfully led and participated in engagements assisting clients with SAP systems implementations, IT strategy and planning, and corporate performance management initiatives both in the U.S., South Africa, UK and Ireland.

Chris obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy at the University of Johannesburg. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants CA (SA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Chris resides in Pittsburgh, PA, with his wife, Leanne, two boys and a mad beagle by the name of Max. He enjoys spending time outdoors and can be found playing a round of golf in the summer or a competitive game of platform tennis during the winter.

 

 
Conrad Jooste

Conrad Jooste, Director of Operations

As Director of Operations, Conrad is responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for all the organization’s global systems and associated business processes which include sales & marketing, support & HR systems, and solutions predominately built within or integrated with Salesforce.com. This also includes the successful management of the IT Operations, Learning & Development, Legal, as well as Billing Operations teams within Excel4apps.

His previous experience includes over 15 years of operations, marketing and project management with the likes of Avaya, Fortis, Centrica and Johnson & Johnson. Conrad received his Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems and Accountancy from The University of Cape Town and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management for the WITS Business School.

Conrad is a keen endurance sports participant having completed a number of marathons, ultras, IronMan and even a 100 mile, yes that’s 160 km, trail running race. He has also climbed Kilimanjaro, at 19,341' (5,895 m) this is Africa’s highest mountain.

 

 
Dean Jones

Dean Jones, Global Vice President, Oracle EBS Solutions

Responsible for the overall vision & strategy of Excel4apps Oracle EBS product suite, Dean brings over 25 years of experience in software solutions development, sales, marketing, support and management of commercial software applications to his role at Excel4apps.  Prior to this role, in 2008, Dean launched Excel4apps European Office and as the Managing Director – UK & Europe developed a very successful region with substantial year on year growth and bringing in many awards for the business.  Before Excel4apps, Dean was Vice President, Products & Special Projects at The GL Company (now InsightSoftware.com), where he initially designed and developed the first out of the box real-time inquiry solution for JD Edwards. Dean’s myriad of talents was instrumental in leading the transformation of the GL Company into profit with development of the GL Inquiry Suite through rapid growth of Sales in Europe and launching the product in the USA. Prior to that, Dean was Consolidation Reporting Product Manager for Walker Financials (Walker Interactive Inc.).

In the earlier part of his career, Dean was one of the first Microsoft Certified Solution Developers in the world and has developed and managed numerous time- saving software solutions for organisations. He obtained a Bachelor Science (Hons) Degree in Computer Science from the University of Teesside awarded the Centre of Excellence for Computing, where his work in Genetic Algorithms lives on today.

Dean has a passion for cars, enjoys his x-bike and insanity classes and has recently taken up road-running after entering his first relay marathon in Pittsburgh.

 

 
Grant Peterson

Grant Peterson, Software Development Manager

Grant joined Excel4apps in 2009 as a product manager in which he played a key role in bringing our solutions into the SAP market. As the product suite has grown he now fulfills the overall development management role for all the Wands for SAP solutions.

In his previous life, he completed his accounting articles with Deloitte and then moved on to consult on multiple SAP implementations.  His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) degree, SAP FICO certification and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work he is the secondary slave to three little people. He loves to play football and cheer for the Springbok rugby team and is planning on entering the world of off-road motor cycles.

 

 

Marlise Buson, Global Financial Director

Marlise is the Global Financial Director at Excel4apps and responsible for the financial operations, consolidation and reporting of the Excel4apps group and its subsidiary companies. This includes providing and interpreting financial information, maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, monitoring and interpreting cash flows, conducting cost reduction reviews and implementing transfer pricing. She is passionate about doing the right thing and therefore monitoring financial processes to minimize financial risk and ensure statutory compliance.

Prior to joining Excel4apps, Marlise was a partner at KPMG in the Financial Services division in Johannesburg where she had a large portfolio of insurance and bank audit clients and then transferred as partner to the KPMG Sydney office. In additional to her professional client responsibilities, she looked after the HR function of the insurance business unit and was a member of KPMG’s partner developemtn and assessment programs which were aimed at coaching, mentoring and assessing new talent for the KPMG partnership. Marlise obtained a Bacehlor of Commerce as well as an Honours degree in Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts.

Marlise resides in Sydney with her husband, co-founder of Excel4apps, and their two children. She keeps fit by cycling with her local cycling club most mornings before work and has taken on some challenging cycling events. She shares her daughter’s passion for dance and is a keen traveler.

 

 
Michele Buson

Michele Buson, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman

Michele is responsible for the Innovation Center and for supporting the current CEO with running Excel4apps. Michele previously co-founded Excel4apps and then led the growth of the company as the CEO for the next 10+ years until April 2016. The Innovation Center will identify and select the best available technologies and integrate them into innovative products & solutions for our customers and for Excel4apps.

Prior to starting Excel4apps, Michele was a Divisional Director at KPMG Consulting and later EOH. He was previously involved in many successful Oracle ERP implementations and also part of the team that was rated as Oracle’s top implementation partner in South Africa for five consecutive years.

Michele studied Accountancy, Business Information Systems and Commercial Law at Rhodes University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is current an active student of Gazelles which is aimed at growing leaders and growing companies. Michele is passionate about optimizing business processes through technology and the creation of easy-to-use, highly valued software products.

For fun and fitness he fuels his need for speed by competing in both road and mountain bike cycling events in Australia and New Zealand.

 
 

 
Richard Sampson

Richard Sampson, Managing Director, Europe

Richard has 20 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in both Tier 1 software vendors and technology start ups. Prior to joining Excel4apps, he was Sales Director at Dassault Systemes, the 2nd largest software vendor in Europe, focusing on implementation of the companies’ global diversification strategy. 

Previously he was the Head of EMEA Sales at Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting, responsible for all sales activities in the region and establishing the ONESOURCE suite of products as the market leader amongst tax and finance professionals. He also helped grow revenues from zero to £16m at NetNames, establishing them as the market leader in online brand protection services, where he was the Global Sales Director.

Richard is a certified coach and also holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Sheffield. In the past, he has travelled extensively and has taken part in activities as varied as canoeing in the Amazon, trekking in the Atacama and wine tasting in Argentina. However life is spent a little closer to home these days and he lives in London with his wife and son where he enjoys football and a quiet pint!

 

 
Richard Savill

Richard Savill, Director of Sales – Middle East, Africa & Asia/Pacific

As Director of Sales, Middle East, Africa & Asia/Pacific, at Excel4apps, Richard is responsible for leading the sales team and driving the success of Excel4apps across these diverse and rapidly growing regions. Joining the company in 2009, Richard was previously responsible for the Middle East, with the solutions provided by Excel4apps becoming the de facto standard for real–time reporting in that region.

Richard brings over 20 years of international experience in sales, marketing, finance, and operations within a range of organizations, including Air New Zealand, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Brightpoint Middle East, and with is a solid understanding of corporate and governmental business drivers.

Richard has a Bachelor of Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma in Business from the University of Auckland. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and paddling his surf-ski around Dubai’s man-made islands. A prolific traveler, Richard has accumulated the passport stamps of over 60 countries and counting.

 

 
Shaun Pendrigh

Shaun Pendrigh, Co-Founder and Director of Product Development

Shaun leads the design and development of Excel4apps’ technology offerings and is a member of the Excel4apps Innovation Center that will identify and select the best available technologies and integrate them into innovative products & solutions for our customers and for Excel4apps.

Previously, Shaun was the Technical Manager at KPMG Consulting and later at EOH with a specialization in delivering system integration projects in the Oracle Financials space. There he was responsible for managing the team of Oracle developers and was involved in architecting the solutions delivered on various Oracle implementation projects. Prior to his role with KPMG and EOH, Shaun worked for Oracle South Africa as a pre-sales consultant for the company’s financial products.

Shaun obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy at UNISA and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Shaun is also passionate about cars and enjoys Formula 1 motor racing.

 

 
Shirley Riddick

Shirley Riddick, Managing Director – Middle East, Africa & Asia/Pacific

As Managing Director, Shirley has been responsible for guiding the business interests of Excel4apps in the Middle East and Africa for close on 10 years, helping grow the business extensively and developing a very impressive blue chip client base. In 2015, Shirley took over the running of the Asia/Pacific region, more than doubling the territory she oversees. Shirley has provided strategic input into the global operations of the business and is well respected by her colleagues, peers and customers.

Shirley’s successes stem from a passion for finance and IT which started prior to her joining Excel4apps in 2006, having worked at EOH/KPMG Consulting in the Oracle business unit as part of the Oracle Financials implementation team, which was named Oracle’s Top Implementation Partner for five consecutive years. She also gained experience with the SAP environment as a business analyst for ExxonMobil. Extensively travelled and culturally sensitive, Shirley is able to fit into any work environment on a local and global scale.

Shirley has a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Informatics, Economics and Logistics, and graduated with an Honours Degree in Informatics from Rand Afrikaans University.

Outside of work Shirley enjoys an active and social lifestyle. She is a keen cyclist, golfer and mother.  Shirley loves spending time with her family and friends, cooking up enticing meals and serving great wine!  She is passionate about life, travelling and learning new things.  Shirley is a cancer survivor and dedicates some of her personal time to the Wings of Hope cancer support group.

 

 
Todd Herbay

Todd Herbay, Global Head of Support Services

As the Global Head of Support Services, Todd’s team is responsible for functional and technical support of our customer’s users and technical teams as well as internal support of business development activities.

Prior to joining Excel4apps, Todd served as Manager of Business Process Improvement at WESCO Distribution, a leading industrial supplier where he recently led multiple process improvement projects utilizing LEAN, Six Sigma, and project management methodologies. In over 20 years at WESCO, Todd gained valuable cross functional experience working with Finance and IT professionals in analyst, design, and management roles applying software and technology to business processes, particularly in the Finance area. With extensive experience in Finance and Accounting, Todd is well aware of the challenges faced by Financial organizations to generate accurate and timely reporting in a cost efficient manner, and his team is dedicated to enabling our customers to overcome these challenges.

Todd obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a certified Project Management Professional. He resides with his wife Heather and four children in Pittsburgh, PA, enjoys coaching youth sports, and occasionally finds time for a round of golf.
