This task will need to be performed by your Oracle Applications database administrator. All that needs to be done on the server is that a script must be run.

To run the script.

1.      Locate the GL Wand Server Install.zip file that is included in the GL Wand.zip or download it here.

2.      Unzip the file into a folder on your PC or send it together with instructions generated by the Mail button in the Connection wizard to your DBA.

3.      Using an Oracle SQL client application like SQLPlus or Toad, log on to the database using the special Apps database user.

4.      Run the script “install.sql” provided.

5.      Ensure that the files GLWAND.plbb and GLWAND.plbs are in the same folder as the install.sql script when it is executed as these files are loaded by the script.

The script creates some profile options and loads the GL Wand pl/sql package and authorises this package. The script can be re-executed if required. The server components are backward compatible and therefore you can run multiple client versions of GL Wand against the same server e.g. GL Wand ver 3.08 and GL Wand ver 3.10 can be run simultaneously against the same server.
